Tigers Prevail, as Divisional Series Goes to the Wire

Major League Baseball pundits who figured the Divisional Series between the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Detroit coming out on top thanks to a 5-3 win in the deciding game at Kauffman Stadium, to wrap things up 4-3.

“You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we’re overjoyed to come out on top,” said Tigers second baseman Alpha Dewdney, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Dewdney had 13 hits for a .448 average. He had 0 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
