The Miami Marlins ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Kansas City Royals 4-2 to win the World Series.
Miami won the series 4-1, capturing the title for the 5th time.
“We stepped it up at the right time, and now we’re the champs,” said Miami manager Ryan Jackson. “It’s a great feeling.”
The champs finished the regular season 99-63 and claimed third place in the National League South Division.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and left fielder Tyrese Wordlaw said the Marlins have “great fans and they deserve this.”
“I am so happy for our city right now,” he said.
