The Tampa Bay Rays are bound for the League Championship Series.
A 7-1 win over the Chicago White Sox at Rosland Capital Stadium ended the Divisional Series, 4-2.
“We’re not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it’s hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end,” said Jeremy Wadsworth. “This could be the biggest celebration Tampa Bay has ever seen if we can win the World Series.”
The state of the Major League Baseball championship remains in doubt, but the Rays certainly appear to be strong contenders.
Wadsworth was named MVP of the Divisional Series after he posted a .400 batting average, while adding 0 home runs, driving in 6 RBI and scoring 3 runs.
The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
