Earlier today, officials from the Tampa Bay Rays and the Kansas City Royals announced that they had finalized negotiations on a trade between the two teams. The deal will send 29-year-old 1B Brandon Lowe to Kansas City in exchange for 23-year-old RF Trejyn Fletcher, 24-year-old minor league 3B Brandon Howlett and 20-year-old minor league 3B Dan Arris.
Tampa Bay will retain a portion of Lowe’s remaining contract.
Looking at his stats this year, Lowe has compiled a .252 batting average, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 40 runs. He has played in 69 games and scored 41 runs.
