Tigers Win League Championship Series

The fans in Detroit are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Oakland.

The Detroit Tigers finished off the Oakland Athletics 6-2 in the deciding game of the League Championship Series played at Comerica Park.

They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the World Series.

For his standout play, Detroit second baseman Alpha Dewdney was voted the series’ Most Valuable Player.

He batted .367, drove in 4 runs and scored 5 to lead his club to victory.

“We could never really figure out how to pitch to Dewdney and that doomed us,” said Athletics manager Edgar Gonzalez. “Hats off to Detroit, though. That was a great series.”

The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
