New York Takes League Championship Series

The New York Yankees beating the Philadelphia Phillies in the League Championship Series won’t go down as one of the classics, but it’s certainly memorable for series MVP Jim Berryman.

“Any time you win a series it’s a great memory, but this one is special, too, as I felt really great out there,” he said. “Baseball is a lot of fun when you’re in control like that.”

New York won the final game by a score of 5-3 at Yankee Stadium and took the series 4-1.

The special series from Berryman included a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched. He added 12 strikeouts with a 3-0 record.

The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
