The Boston Red Sox ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Baltimore Orioles 7-6 to win the World Series.
Boston won the series 4-0, capturing the title for the 11th time.
“We stepped it up at the right time, and now we’re the champs,” said Boston manager Jimmy Gonzalez. “It’s a great feeling.”
The champs finished the regular season 97-66 and claimed first place in the American League East Division.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and shortstop Andres Gimenez said the Red Sox have “great fans and they deserve this.”
“I am so happy for our city right now,” he said.
