The Houston Astros outclassed the New York Mets in all facets of the game throughout the AL Wild Card Series.
The end result was a Houston series sweep to advance to the Divisional Series, capped off by a 6-5 win in the final game.
“We’re a bit surprised it’s over in a sweep, to be honest with you,” said first baseman Kohji Kumagai, who hit .750 in the series.
Kumagai‘s standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .800 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
