Oakland-San Francisco Trade Confirmed

The Athletics and Giants announced a deal that was completed today. Oakland sent 19-year old minor league 1B Brad Cannady and 20-year old minor league RHP Nate Barney to San Francisco for 27-year old RF Chris Desmond. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.
In 417 career games Desmond is hitting at a .234 pace with 347 hits with 64 doubles, 4 triples and 73 homers while scoring 209 runs and racking up 226 RBIs. He logged 133 walks and owns a .309 on-base percentage.
