Nationals Win Fall Classic and Get Invited to the White House

Besides winning the big game and all of the accolades that go along with it, the Washington Nationals also got a phone call from the President of the United States.

The call from the nation’s commander-in-chief was part of an annual tradition to invite the winning club to visit the White House. When describing the call he received from POTUS, Nationals manager Rick Wilkins seemed a bit flustered.

“He told us that he wants to meet the boys that won the Series and asked if we would come to the White House,” Wilkins said. “I told him, ‘Hell yes…er- yes sir, Mr. President.'”

The date of the visit has not been announced.
