The Arizona Diamondbacks appear poised to make a serious run at the World Series after a convincing sweep over the San Diego Padres in the Division Series.
It’s now on to the League Championship Series for Arizona, who won the final game 8-2 and took the series 3-0.
“Everyone’s doing their part and things are falling into place,” said Arizona catcher Daulton Varsho, who was named series MVP. “It feels like a special year.”
For the series, Varsho hit .636 with a .636 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Arizona Diamondbacks don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Philadelphia Phillies – Chicago Cubs series. Chicago leads the series 2 game to 1. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2024.
