The San Diego Padres outclassed the Los Angeles Dodgers in all facets of the game throughout the NL Wild Card Game.
The end result was a San Diego series sweep to advance to the Division Series, capped off by a 7-3 win in the final game.
“We’re a bit surprised it’s over in a sweep, to be honest with you,” said left fielder Max Kepler, who hit .500 in the series.
Kepler‘s standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .500 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The San Diego Padres will play against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the next round. Arizona had a bye in the Wild Card Game. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 6th, 2024.
