The Pirates received bad news this morning. Pete Bischof will miss 5 months due to a broken kneecap. He sustained the injury in the Pittsburgh–Los Angeles game while running the bases. “I’m disappointed more than anything,” he told reporters later in the day. “You can’t help your team on the bench,” Bischof sighed. “I’ll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery.”
Bischof is currently hitting at a .254 pace with no home runs, 10 RBIs and has scored 12 times.
