T.J. Haines sparked his Montreal Expos past the pesky Cleveland Guardians in a closely-contested Divisional Series.
Montreal topped Cleveland 6-5 at Progressive Field to decide the series, 4-2
For his efforts, Haines was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .360 batting average, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
“You never want to leave anything on the field,” Haines said. “You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you’ll need to win.”
The Montreal Expos will play against the St. Louis Cardinals in the next round. St. Louis won their series against the Houston Astros 4 games to 1. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 19th , 2030.
