In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Montreal Expos have swapped 28-year old 2B Brayan Rocchio to the Tampa Bay Rays for 22-year old minor league 1B Caleb Ramos. The Expos GM told reporters, “We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it.”
Montreal will retain a portion of Rocchio’s remaining contract.
Rocchio is hitting .195 for the season with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 24 hits in 123 at-bats and played in 36 games.
