T.J. Haines Lost for Season; Part of Next

The doctors have spoken and T.J. Haines of the Toronto Blue Jays didn’t like what he heard. The 24-year-old left fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Haines sustained his season-ending injury during the Houston Astros game yesterday at Minute Maid Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Toronto medical staff reported Haines had a broken kneecap and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 months.

So far this season Haines has 13 home runs and a .300 batting average.
