Fans seated in the bleacher section at Chase Field were taking cover all day long as Victor Caratini zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power.
The big game from the Milwaukee catcher helped the Brewers take the victory, 10-5, over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
“I told myself not to press on the last one,” he told reporters in the postgame press conference. “I knew I couldn’t force it — it has to be a nice easy swing.”
For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 3 and scored 4 runs.
Victor Caratini hit a solo-shot off Tony Gonsolin in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tony Gonsolin in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Joey Gerber in the 9th.
This season Caratini has hit at a .245 clip with 15 RBIs, 8 home runs and 27 runs scored.
