Hits Galore: Chapman Drills 5 Hits

It was a big day for Matt Chapman and he brought the San Diego Padres along for the ride.

Chapman led his club to a 8-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants today at Oracle Park, smoking San Francisco pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 32-year-old shortstop later called the victory “sweet.”

Matt Chapman hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Blake Bivens in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

So far on the season Chapman is hitting .322 with 16 home runs, 50 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 85 hits and played in 67 games.
