It’s being reported in the Chicago press that the Cubs have traded 34-year-old 1B Anthony Rizzo to the New York Mets for 20-year-old minor league 2B Jeremy DeVeau and 33-year-old RHP Jake Odorizzi. However, there is no confirmation by the two ball clubs.
Chicago will retain a portion of Rizzo’s remaining contract.
For his career Rizzo is hitting .274 with 323 homers, 1071 RBIs and 1768 hits.
During his career Odorizzi has compiled a 121-92 record with a 3.69 ERA in 313 starts.
