Dodgers Acquire Trey Mancini from Mariners

The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to Seattle. “Got my bags packed already,” he said, when reached for comment. The Mariners will receive 25-year-old minor league 3B Elehuris Montero and 21-year-old minor league SS Arol Vera, while 31-year-old 1B Trey Mancini will go to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Seattle will retain a portion of Mancini’s remaining contract.

In 1047 career games Mancini has hit .266 with 1066 hits, 205 home runs, 574 RBIs and scored 564 runs.

The Dodgers were reportedly targeting Max Muncy in free agency but couldn’t come to terms which is why they turned their focus to acquiring Mancini to fill the void at first base. Mancini provides the slugger at the corner stone position that they desperately were lacking.
