Despite the best efforts of Jose Altuve, the Boston Red Sox have won the Division Series.
The Houston Astros standout was named series MVP, even though his team lost to Boston 4-1 in the final game, and dropped the series 3-1.
“Hats off to them, they deserve to be moving on,” Altuve said at Minute Maid Park after being awarded his MVP trophy. “I just wish I could trade this trophy in for a chance at the World Series.”
For their part, the Red Sox celebrated long into the night, as they are now set to move on to the League Championship Series.
The Boston Red Sox will play against the Los Angeles Angels in the next round. Los Angeles won their series against the Minnesota Twins 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 16th, 2021.
