Steele for Fernandez: The Cubs and the Expos finalized a deal this afternoon. Chicago has traded for 25-year-old LF Vince Fernandez and 22-year-old minor league RHP Shane Baz and in return Montreal will receive 25-year-old minor league LHP Justin Steele.
In his lifetime numbers Steele has a 4-5 won-lost record with a 5.62 ERA.
Fernandez is hitting .234 this year with 6 home runs and 16 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .298, 8 walks and scored 13 times.
