Roveto Grabs AL Cy Young Award

This past season was very special for Pat Roveto of the Kansas City Royals. He picked up 16 wins against only 9 losses and was chosen the winner of the 2039 American League Cy Young Award.

The 26-year-old Royals ace fashioned a fine 3.04 ERA in 35 starts. He threw 192.2 innings, gave up 144 hits, 73 walks and held opponents to a .205 average. Roveto fanned 244 batters this season.

Shamel Dotie of the New York Yankees finished second in voting, while Billy Deckard of the Oakland Athletics finished third.
