Angrum Gets 500th Save, Shuts Down Marlins 5-2

“He’s one of the best in the business, and this milestone proves it,” the Chicago Cubs manager told BNN after Edgerin Angrum closed out another Cubs win for his 500th-career save. “It’s not always pretty, but the man just knows how to get his job done.”

The 33-year-old relief specialist gave up no runs and no hits in 1 innings of work in the Cubs 5-2 triumph over the Miami Marlins. The game was played at Wrigley Field.

Over his career Angrum has 500 saves with a 73-90 record and a 3.06 ERA.
