Los Angeles Takes Wild Card Series in Deciding Game

Depending on your loyalties, the Wild Card Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking.

The series went down to its final game, with the Los Angeles Angels and the Oakland Athletics giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Angels came out on top, winning 7-6 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim today to take the series 2-1.

“We’re lucky to be going into the Divisional Series,” said Los Angeles pitcher Kevin Stricklen. “If all the series are like this, it’ll definitely be an entertaining postseason.”

Stricklen earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .455 average, with 1 home runs, 5 RBI and 1 runs scored.

The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
