20-Game Hitting Streak for Morris

With 1 hit at Petco Park today, Brad Morris added another game to his hitting streak — the Texas third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn’t enough for the Rangers today, as they fell, 4-2, to the San Diego Padres.

“Frankly, I don’t care about hits,” San Diego manager Derek Jeter said later. “I’ll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win.”
Brad Morris grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.

Morris is batting .387 this season in 18 games with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 29 hits in 75 at-bats.
