| The St. Louis Cardinals are one step closer to the World Series. The club prevailed 3-1 at Busch Stadium tonight to eliminate the New York Yankees and advance to the Divisional Series. The Cardinals won the series by a 4-1 margin, with center fielder and series MVP Chris Hiebert leading the way. “I’m proud of all the guys,” Hiebert said. “This was a team effort, not just me.” The St. Louis Cardinals will play against the Houston Astros in the next round.
