The standout 22-year-old second baseman has a strained rib cage muscle and didn’t rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury.
“Luis will play if he can,” said the team doctor. “He hasn’t got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible.”
