Mets Cruise to League Championship Series with Sweep

It’s a sweet sweep for the New York Mets and they have won the Division Series. The St. Louis Cardinals were not able to keep pace with the Mets and dropped the series in short order, losing 3-2 in the deciding game.

“This wasn’t really the effort we hoped for,” said St. Louis manager Joe Girardi.

It’s now on to the League Championship Series for New York after their 3-0 series win.

Leading the way for the winners was second baseman Jeff McNeil, who was named MVP. For the series, McNeil hit .333 with a .333 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs.

The New York Mets don’t know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Los Angeles DodgersSan Diego Padres series. San Diego leads the series 2 games to 0. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 16th, 2023.
