In a powerful performance that left the fans at Progressive Field buzzing, Cleveland Indians third baseman Christian Arroyo blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 10-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
“Everything was clicking,” Arroyo told the press. “My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn’t miss them.”
Arroyo shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
“It’s not just one guy, it’s everybody,” Indians manager Bob Melvin said. “Christian played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game.”
Christian Arroyo hit a solo-shot off Matthew Liberatore in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Matthew Liberatore in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Sam Tuivailala in the 8th.
So far this season Arroyo has hit .231 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 29 times.
