The Athletics and Braves announced a deal that was completed today. Oakland sent 32-year-old LF Mark Canha to Atlanta for 25-year-old minor league RHP Garrett Whitlock, 18-year-old minor league RHP Dan Rackauskas and 23-year-old minor league LHP Eddie Patridge. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.
To date this season Canha is hitting .227 with 17 home runs.
This season Whitlock has been credited with no saves in 11 relief appearances. In 36 innings he has a 1-1 won-lost mark, 4.25 ERA and 23 strikeouts
