Rollins Gets Job By Watching Video Games?

Jimmy Rollins has been enjoying his retirement, but his competitive side still wanted a little more. That is when Rollins decided to invest into NRG, a e-sports company that owns 9 teams, one of which is the San Francisco Shock in the Overwatch League. In 2019 the Shock won the title in the OWL in a city that has a title memories for Rollins himself, Philadelphia. “Seeing the crowd go crazy and the Shock lifting the trophy brought back a lot of feelings for me” Rollins said about watching the game. It was at this moment that Jimmy knew he needed to get back into competitive action. During the 2020 E-Sports themed game in San Francisco, the Shock and Rollins, were honored. It was during this game that Jimmy and the Giants front office started talking about Jimmy joining the coaching staff for the Giants. “One of the first things I wanted to accomplish as the GM is get that spark on the coaching staff, and I think Jimmy fills that to a T” new GM Zack Pinette said of the Jimmy. Jimmy Rollins will join the Giants as their Bench Coach in 2021, and he has a team of video game players to thank for that.
