Story and Bell Swapped in Major Trade: Philadelphia and Los Angeles have wound up week-long negotiations and finalized a big-league trade involving several prominent players. Heading over to Philadelphia will be 27-year-old 1B Josh Bell, 20-year-old minor league SS Livan Soto and 22-year-old minor league CF Jahmai Jones and in return the Angels will acquire 29-year-old LHP Matt Boyd, 27-year-old SS Trevor Story, 30-year-old 1B Eric Hosmer and 30-year-old RHP Jerad Eickhoff.
Philadelphia will retain a portion of Hosmer’s remaining contract.
Thus far this season Story has hit .239 with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs and scored 49 times.
This season Bell is batting .269 with 107 hits and 23 home runs. He has scored 63 times and has 84 runs batted in.
