NO HITTER for Lamet

Lamet No-Hits Miami: In a dominant outing, Dinelson Lamet of the San Diego Padres totally silenced the bats of the Miami Marlins, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Padres’ 1-0 victory, Lamet faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 11 strikeouts and 4 walks.

“Honestly, I didn’t even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning,” San Diego manager Andy Green said. “I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn’t gotten any.”

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Brian Butterfield told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a “pretty simple” analysis of the game.

“The Padres had all the hits and all the runs, so they won,” he snapped. “But yeah, Lamet pitched a heck of a ballgame.”

This season Lamet has 4 wins and 8 losses and a 3.78 ERA.
