It’s a sweet sweep for the Boston Red Sox and they have won the Wild Card Series. The Kansas City Royals were not able to keep pace with the Red Sox and dropped the series in short order, losing 11-5 in the deciding game.
“This wasn’t really the effort we hoped for,” said Kansas City manager Anthony Contreras.
It’s now on to the Divisional Series for Boston after their 2-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was right fielder Jim Taylor, who was named MVP. For the series, Taylor hit .545 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
