Kyle Tucker Says Farewell to Baseball

His Texas Rangers teammates were not terribly surprised when Kyle Tucker announced his retirement today.

In a low-key affair, Tucker explained his rationale.

“My aches and pains have caught up with me. They don’t seem to go away like they used to when I was a kid,” he said. “I’m spending more and more time in the trainer’s room and less and less time preparing for my next game. I’ve come to a realization that I’ve done what I can in this game and spending more time playing baseball is just stealing from my future self.”

When asked, the team manager noted “Kyle has always been an honest man and when he says he’s done, well, he’s done.”

Lifetime Tucker has played in 2809 games, batted .284 with 679 home runs and 3051 base hits.
