The Oakland Athletics have advanced to the League Championship Series, with a 9-7 triumph at Fidelity Field over the Washington Nationals.
The win sealed a 4-2 series win for Oakland.
The series MVP honor went to Athletics catcher Al Anderson.
“It takes every guy in that dugout to win games, not just me,” Anderson said afterward. “I’m proud to be moving on.”
The League Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
