Ferguson Catches up on Yard Work — Slams 4 Homers

Jon Ferguson victimized Los Angeles Angels hurlers today, smashing 4 home runs in a herculean effort that will go down in the National League record books.

In an epic hitting spree at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, the Chicago first baseman went downtown again and again, leading the Cubs to a 8-5 triumph. He went 4-for-5, drove in 4 runs and scored 4 times in the historic game.

“The first ones just happened,” he said later, discussing the game. “However, that last time, I was swinging for the fences — and WHAM — I nailed it.”
