Tucker Goes 6-for-6 Against Arizona

Kyle Tucker was at the head of a New York hit parade today at Chase Field. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 6 hits, sparking the Mets to a 16-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

“I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere,” the sweet-swinging Tucker told reporters after the game. “Seems like it worked out well for us today.”

Diamondbacks skipper Alex Cora said later that the club gave up “too much plate.”

“Not the way we planned it,” he said. “Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that.”

Kyle Tucker singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Kenji Matsumoto in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season in 121 games, Tucker has hit at a .290 clip with 132 hits, 20 home runs, 61 RBIs and 93 runs scored.
