Chris Sale Gets in on First Ballot

At the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies today, the longtime friend and manager of Chris Sale told the audience, “The worst thing as a manager is the day you realize you want to win more than the players do. I never had that problem with Chris. Nobody wanted to win more than this gifted pitcher.”

For his strong and consistent pitching over the years, Sale was voted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers Association.

When he ended his career at age 42, Sale had a career won-loss record of 238 wins and 159 losses with 4651 strikeouts in 3601.2 innings and a 3.31 ERA.
