The Cleveland Guardians will be minus Jimmy Wyant for about 3-4 weeks after the catcher suffered a fractured foot while being hit by a pitch in a recent game against the Montreal Expos. Wyant and Guardians skipper Neifi Perez had been hoping the post-game examination would show less damage than originally thought.
This season Wyant has 15 home runs and a .269 batting average.
