New Toronto Skipper is Eric Wedge

Following the departure of manager Brad Ausmus, the Toronto Blue Jays have now announced the signing of Eric Wedge to fill their managerial void, hoping that some new blood would shake up the roster and push them to the contender that GM Stogoski believes they can be. iMLB reporters managed to catch Wedge sitting in the dugout alone following the teams 7-3 victory over Detroit to ask some questions.”So Eric, the start to your career here in Toronto may not have been the awe-inspiring change that some fans have hoped for, though you have kept the team afloat from the sub-.500 record it was drowning into with Brad Ausmus. What do you believe has changed in the team since you’ve arrived?” asked the reporter and Toronto native, Ann Al.”Eric Wedge.” responded the newly hired manager.

Ann Al seemed confused as would most people in this situation, but she displayed her professionalism and continued on. “You’re working with a roster of many very talented men, and every part of of this game is covered in some way by someone at your disposal. How does it feel to have such a hand of cards?”Eric Wedge, who still to this point has not visually acknowledged Ann Al’s presence and continued to stare blankly ahead of him, didn’t offer anything better than last time. “Eric Wedge” he replied.Determined not to let the media christening of Toronto’s new skipper go to waste, our reporter attempted once more to pry something out of him. “General Manager Stogoski mainly noted to us that he loves your openness to adjust your style as the season calls for it, which I’m sure many would agree is a positive trait in the head of a club. What do you think of the proactive role the organization is beginning to take in the on-field strategy?””Eric Wedge.”Before Ann Al could continue on, however, Anthony Volpe had come back into the dugout and intervened immediately. He stepped between the two of them and began muttering to Wedge with his hand on his shoulder, to which Wedge still had no physical reaction. “I’d be happy to answer your questions from here on out!” Volpe stated jovially as he turned to the camera and Al, Eric Wedge still motionless and blank in the background.
