Martinez Hits in 20 Straight Games

Julio Pablo Martinez ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Globe Life Park in Arlington, when he collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Texas Rangers dropped the game, 6-4, to the New York Mets.

“Hey, the streak is great — I hope it never ends,” Martinez said later. “But I’m not happy to lose the game.”
Julio Pablo Martinez struck out in the 1st, walked in a run in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and struck out in the 7th.

This year Martinez has hit 19 home runs and posted a .307 batting average.
